It All Began in 1933 by Max Rubin.

The story of Ohio Auto Supply began in 1933, when it was founded in downtown Canton, Ohio, by Max Rubin as a wrecking yard and parts store. Phil Dickson, Rubin’s son-in-law, joined him in 1947 upon returning from WWII, and was owner/operator of Ohio Auto Supply and involved in the automotive aftermarket for more than 50 years. Michael Dickson, Phil’s son, joined the company full-time in 1980, and CEO since 1996 to present day.

In 1970, Phil Dickson took on the Pro Car Beauty line of automotive detailing products and began distributing to car dealerships and detail shops. In 1984, Mike Dickson began manufacturing 5 products in the PDP line, Professional Detailing Products, which has grown into the largest automotive detailing manufacturer in Ohio, making over 100 different products, and also distributing all major lines related to car wash and car detailing. In 1998, Dickson built a 15,000 sq ft building for warehouse and manufacturing. The 3000 sq ft showroom is one of a kind showcase specifically for automotive detailers, and has everything you can imagine related to car washing and detailing: literally a detailer’s “candy store.” In 2000, Ohio Auto Supply was awarded “Outstanding Business of the Year” by the Canton Chamber of Commerce.
